Receipt Data:

  • Photos of receipts you capture or select from your photo library
  • Extracted information from receipts (subtotal, tax, total, restaurant name, date, line items)
  • Custom notes and ratings you add to receipts
  • Photos and videos you attach to receipts

Location Data (Optional):

  • GPS coordinates when you save a receipt (if location services are enabled)
  • Used to automatically identify restaurant names and provide location-based recommendations
  • You can disable location services in your device settings or within the App settings

Usage Data:

  • App preferences and settings (tip percentages, budget limits, categories)
  • Device identifier (anonymous, used for API rate limiting and premium verification)
  • Subscription status and transaction information (via Apple StoreKit)

No Personal Account Information:

  • The App does not require user accounts, login credentials, or email addresses
  • We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or other personally identifiable information

2. How We Use Your Information

Local Storage:

  • All receipt data, photos, videos, and settings are stored exclusively on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework
  • Your data never leaves your device except for temporary AI processing (see below)

AI Processing:

  • Receipt photos are sent via encrypted HTTPS API calls to AWS Lambda for AI-powered OCR (Optical Character Recognition)
  • AI processing extracts receipt information (amounts, dates, restaurant names) using OpenAI’s API
  • For restaurant recommendations and spending insights, your receipt history is analyzed by AI services
  • All API calls are encrypted and processed temporarily—we do not store your receipt data on our servers

Location Services:

  • Location data is used to automatically identify restaurant names near your location
  • Used to provide location-based restaurant recommendations
  • Location data is stored locally on your device only

Premium Features:

  • Subscription status is verified via Apple’s StoreKit framework
  • Transaction information is used to verify premium entitlements
  • No payment information is collected by us—all payments are processed by Apple

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

OpenAI API:

  • Used for AI-powered receipt OCR, spending insights, restaurant recommendations, and social media content generation
  • Receipt photos and data are sent temporarily for processing

AWS Lambda:

  • AdMob may collect device information and usage data for ad personalization

4. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage:

  • All your receipt data, photos, videos, and settings are stored locally on your iOS device
  • Data is stored using Apple’s SwiftData framework, which provides secure, encrypted storage
  • Your data is never uploaded to our servers for permanent storage

Temporary Processing:

  • Receipt images are sent via encrypted HTTPS to our backend services for AI processing
  • Processing is temporary—receipt data is not stored on our servers after processing completes
  • All API communications use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL)

Data Security:

  • We use encrypted API calls for all data transmission
  • Your device’s built-in security features protect locally stored data
  • We do not have access to your device or locally stored data

5. Your Rights and Choices

Data Access:

  • You can view all your receipt data within the App at any time
  • Export your data as PDF or CSV reports (Premium feature)

Data Deletion:

  • Delete individual receipts from within the App
  • Delete all receipt history via “Delete All History” in Settings
  • Deleting data removes it permanently from your device

Location Services:

  • You can disable location services in your device settings or within the App settings
  • Disabling location services prevents automatic restaurant identification but does not affect core App functionality

Advertising:

  • Free users see advertisements via Google AdMob
  • You can opt out of personalized ads in your iOS device settings: Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising
  • Premium users do not see advertisements

Subscription Management:

  • Manage your subscription through your Apple ID account settings
  • Restore purchases via the “Restore Purchases” button in the App

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

7. Data Retention

  • Receipt data is stored on your device until you delete it
  • We do not retain receipt data on our servers after AI processing completes
  • Deleted receipts cannot be recovered

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this section. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
